The Florida Pokers announce their final
tryout for Summer 2012 teams!
The Florida Pokers will be hosting their final tryout for their 2012 summer teams on January 29th, beginning at 1 pm, at Taravella HS, in Coral Springs. The tryout is very important for those wanting to play for the Pokers in 2012 as we plan to have all rosters filled following the tryout. We will be hosting 4 teams: 18u, 17u, 16u and 15u.
If you would like the opportunity to play for a nationally known organization be sure to sign up now as spots will be limited. Our showcase-style camp will be attended by several south Florida Universities, so don't miss your opportunity to not only play for this great organization but workout in front of college coaches and scouts!

Big week for several 2012 Florida Pokers!
Denzel Richardson, from St. Maarten, who played for our 18u team this summer,
signed a professional contract with the Colorado Rockies while four guys who played
for us this fall have made their college commitments: DJ Fenstermaker (Miami-Dade
College), Cam Hokanson (Lander University), Wes Piersall (University of Tennessee at
Martin) and Kenny Harrell (Savannah College of Art and Design). That brings our 2012
committment list to 8 following a summer in which we had 22 seniors commit to play
college baseball.
If you would like to have the chance to play college baseball and one day be added to
this list: The Florida Pokers will be hosting 4 teams in the summer (18u, 17u and 2
Underclass teams). To become a part of our organization you can register now. We
will be holding tryouts for our summer teams December 17th at Westminster

Our Online Sponsorship Program offers businesses in the South Florida area the opportunity to get their company’s name and/or logo in front of those who visit our website throughout the year. Your message will be seen when you advertise on either our front page or our corporate sponsorship page and will be displayed throughout the year. All monies collected will go toward sponsoring our athletes and providing them the opportunity to gain the necessary exposure that will allow them to play baseball in college and beyond.
You and your business will have a choice between having your ad placed on the front page of our website or on our newly created corporate sponsorship page for the entire year exhibiting your support for our student-athletes and all their hard work.
REQUIREMENTS: Digital artwork is the only requirement. The Florida Pokers will not reproduce any corporate logo and/or advertising.
A corporate sponsor must provide their own logo and/or advertisement.
The Florida Pokers are happy to announce that this has been a big week for our 2011 Pokers White team!
- Early in the week we found out that Jordan Suarez (1B- American Senior HS) had made a verbal commitment to play his college baseball at Georgia State University. The coaches said they were very impressed with the power potential Jordan brought to the plate and his ability to handle college-level pitching.
- Later in the week, Allan Bencid (C- Cypress Bay HS) was named to the Under Armour Pre-Season All-American team and has been invited to their All-American Tournament taking place in January in Tucson, Arizona.
- We would also like to acknowledge Omar Williams (3B-Lake Worth Christian) and wish him good luck in the International Power Showcase, taking place at the end of this month also in Arizona. Omar will not only be representing the Pokers but also his home of St. Maarten, in the Caribbean.

The organization will be moving in a new direction and we are extremely excited about the upcoming summer and look forward to returning this excellent organization back to the Elite level at which it belongs. Good luck to all of our players this spring, we will be out attending games throughout the spring in an attempt to recruit the best talent South Florida has to offer. We will soon be sending everyone an email listing our two tryouts, one over Holiday break and one closer to the start of the summer. There will be a registration, like in the past, go up on the website so please be sure to register ASAP for one of the tryouts as space will be limited and competition for spots intense. Also, the summer schedules are close to being finalized so be sure to check back soon to see what tournaments we will be taking part in.
