The American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) is the sponsoring organization of Connie Mack Baseball. The AABC is made of seven leagues divisions throughout out the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The Connie Mack division is for players eighteen and under.

WHO IS CONNIE MACK?

Born Cornelius Alexander McGillicuddy, Connie Mack as he was known, was born December 22, 1862, in east Brookfield, Massachusetts and died February 8, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Mack’s Major League debut was September 11, 1886. Mr. Mack played the game as catcher for eleven years before he became the manager of the Philadelphia A’s. Mr. Mack managed the A’s from 1901 until20he retired from managing baseball in 1950. During his time as manager he was a part owner of the A’s and became sole owner in 1937. His accomplishments as a Manager are many. He managed 7,878 games and won 3,776. Mack won nine American League pennants, played in eight World Series and won five World Series Crowns.

Mr. Mack managed the A’s for a half century. The AABC honors his commitment to the game by naming an age division after him. He remained an owner of the A's until 1954. More than fifty years later, he remains a respected figure in the game.

Mr. Mack was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937.
